Support & Empower Survivors of

Intimate Partner & Sexual Violence.

We envision a community in which all are safe, equal, and empowered.

The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society is a feminist organization that is dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence, providing support services, and seeking justice for all survivors in the Central Okanagan Valley. In 2021 alone, we provided support to over 12,000 survivors.

Our mission is to support and empower survivors of intimate partner and sexual abuse, exploitation, or violence.

COEFS achieves this purpose through prevention and intervention services in collaboration with community partners.

Programs & Services

We have an array of services to support survivors that include Community Based Victim Services, Counselling Services for recent and historical sexual assault, Indigenous Victim Services, Youth Prevention programs and more. Programs provide emotional support, practical support, and referrals to those affected by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, as well as child abuse and neglect. For details on our services and to make an appointment, please see below to learn more and contact our team.

What Is Intimate Partner Violence?

Intimate partner violence is abuse or aggression that occurs in a romantic relationship. “Intimate partner” refers to both current and former spouses and dating partners. It includes physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and controlling behaviours by an intimate partner. Intimate partner violence1 (IPV) occurs in all settings and among all socioeconomic, religious and cultural groups.

To learn more about the statistics and severity of IPV in Canada, and the ways in which our team is addressing IPV, please see below to learn more.

Support a Survivor of Abuse

Our organization would not be able to provide the critical support and services to survivors of domestic & sexual violence without the generosity and ongoing support of our donors and community partners. Giving the gift of safety through a monetary donation is one of the most powerful ways to support a survivor of abuse in the Central Okanagan community.

Please make a donation below, or contact our team to discuss additional opportunities to support survivors including through community partnerships, corporate sponsorship and more.
